The brief
Re-shape and manage total supply chain including procurement of non core products.
The solution
This customer had experienced tremendous growth in Europe since 2002 and had never established a logistics and supply chain footprint in Europe. Servicing 135 aircraft via a network of 12 hubs in Europe SEKO SYNERGY are responsible for the procurement of 320 in cabin products from wines to galley equipment. Product is ordered by SEKO SYNERGY against an annual budget from the customer and we then have sole responsibility for supply chain management from forecasting of usage through to Purchase Order inception and delivery to airport locker. Lockers are run using our own bespoke technology allowing the customer to have full SKU level visibility of all products life span and usage.
The result
The customer is able to run a $7 million dollar supply chain without any fixed costs or overheads in a totally outsourced environment in tune with their company ethos of only employing staff for core competency of their business – which is aviation.
The customer has seen a $1.5 million dollar reduction in like for like spend in the 12 months that SEKO SYNERGY have taken over the contract as well as major reductions in stock shrinkage and over stocking.
The customer has just awarded us an additional 3 year contract extension on the back of the success of the project.
