The brief
Design and manage a fully bespoke logistics, fulfilment and freight forwarding operation that allows the customer to focus on their core competency of brand management and design.The solution
SEKO SYNERGY manage all inbound airfreight from 25 strong vendor base in India and China managing circa 500,000 units per annum. Product is serialised (bar coded) by suppliers using SEKO SYNERGY SupplyStream solution. Upon arrival at SEKO SYNERGY`s UK distribution centre product is allocated and scanned to locations allowing customer to directly create sales orders from Supply Stream.
Orders are then picked and packed and shipped directly to the customers door in a time defined manner with a POD from customer initiating an automated billing process via the internet.
The result
In the last two years this outsourced model has allowed the client to focus on their core activities of design and brand management without investing heavily in IT and logistics infrastructure. Results speak for themselves. In calendar year 2005 of 380,000 units handled via Supply Stream less than 8 units were recorded as discrepancy from the direct customers.
A seamless operation from factory gate to customers door controlled in a web enabled environment puts the customer in control whilst managing logistics costs on a “per unit� basis with a cost base linked entirely to throughput of units.
