Ocean Freight Increases and critical space situation from Asia to the UK

Effective July 1st 2007 the Far East Freight Conference (FEFC) will implement a general rate increase as part of its 2007 Westbound business plan.The GRI will be $300 USD per TEU and will apply for all sailings from Asia to the UK.
Volume from Asia continues to out strip capacity into the UK and it is our feeling that these increases will continue until the beginning of 2008 at the earliest. We will be working with our customers as closely as possible to help mitigate part of these increases as best we can, but clearly this is an issue for the market in general and not just for clients of SEKO SYNERGY.
